7 DAYS OF PRAYER & FASTING DETAILS
“RECHARGE AND RENEW”
With the turn of the year comes great expectation that the seasons to come will be different from the past. As the clock turned into the New Year, many proposed to leave former habits behind and strive to begin anew. It is said that one cannot expect different results to occur when the same actions are taken. Therefore, to expect something different, out of the ordinary or unusual, new moves must indeed be made.
Fasting is a spiritual act we as children of God do to set our thoughts on our Heavenly Father. Prior to Paul being used to work unusual miracles, the early church spent time fasting and praying which led to him being chosen (Acts 13: 1-3). It most certainly would have been out of the ordinary for a man who formerly persecuted Christians to be called to spread the very same message he opposed! I believe many of us have fasted, however each time we endeavor to take this action, our hearts and minds must be positioned in a new place of expectation for uncommon occurrences.
The theme of this fast is entitled “Days of the Unusual”, and we believe by faith that as we progress through these days that signs and wondered deemed “special” will be seen among us.
Be ready to experience the extraordinary as we wait in God’s presence for these next few days and be expectant! Our God promises that the expectations of the righteous shall not be cut off (Proverbs 23:18). Prepare your heart and let’s pray!
Yours in this heavenly race,
Frank Ofosu Appiah
DURING THE FAST
During a fast, we voluntarily abstain from food and worldly activities in order to focus more on spiritual activities.
During a fast, we humble ourselves before God, we consecrate ourselves and go deeper into Him. Our spirits become awakened to God and we are able to see him clearly.
2 Chronicles 7: 14, 15
